Alexanders estate agents of Ashby-de-la-Zouch are excited to announce a new partnership with North West Leicestershire School Sports Partnership (NWLSSP).

The NWLSSP supports 43 schools across North West Leicestershire by providing pupils with high quality PE, sport and physical activity. The independent, family run firm has made a commitment to the NWLSSP throughout 2017/18 with a donation for every property sold through its Ashby branch.

Tom Smith, Senior Partner at Alexanders said: “The opportunity to support sport in local schools through the NWLSSP is superb. Growing up locally sport was a massive part of my school life, and is something that in my opinion can be very overlooked today. The work undertaken by the NWLSSP gives our local children the opportunity to participate and compete in a whole host of sports and activities.”

Each donation will support the NWLSSP Leadership Academy, responsible for training and deploying over 250 young sports leaders each year and providing them with vital skills and experiences that will help them as they seek employment or higher education opportunities in later life.

Stuart Johnson, Director of Sport and Community Development at NWLSSP said: “We’re delighted to be working with Alexanders.  There is clearly a commitment on their behalf to help us create and sustain opportunities for local young to take part in high quality PE, sport and physical activity.  The additional support this agreement will bring will allow us to give more young people opportunities to gain sports leadership qualifications and increase the numbers in our Leadership Academy.”

Alexanders opened their fourth office at 12 The Green in March of this year. The company specialises in residential sales, land and development and has recently launched a fully managed lettings service.

Tom Smith added: “Since opening the doors to our new branch in Ashby-de-la-Zouch the response we have received from the town has been overwhelming. As an independent firm I feel strongly that we should support our local community and have made a commitment to give back through the NWLSSP.”

Tom Smith is Area Manager of Alexanders

Since opening the doors to our new branch in the heart of the picturesque Leicestershire market town of Market Bosworth in July, the support that we have received from the community has been overwhelming. It is fair to say that with a mix of superb schooling, full range of amenities, boutique shops and rambling countryside on the doorstep, it is no wonder that families are driven to living in the area. It is rare to find such a welcoming village feel nowadays, but Market Bosworth manages to find that perfect mix between sleepy village and bustling market town, with convenient road links to Birmingham, Coventry and Warwick, and a train service to London from Nuneaton.

Alexanders Market Bosworth office

Alexanders Market Bosworth officeWith interest rates for borrowing at an all time low, and demand for property in the town at an all time high, it is my belief that exciting times lay ahead for Bosworth and the surrounding villages. It is well documented that the property market is prospering across the UK, and this is certainly the case in this pocket of rural countryside. With many buyers priced out of the market in London, the home counties and surrounding areas, Leicestershire has seen a flurry of activity from buyers looking to commute to the capital for work purposes. This ripple effect has seen a steady increase in sale prices over the past 4 years; a trend that has seemed to gain traction throughout the last quarter of 2016.

Looking forward to 2017 is very exciting for Alexanders Market Bosworth. The firm has been selected to become a member of the Guild of Professional Estate Agents from January, a link that will help to strengthen our nationwide connections and grant us access to advertising space in Park Lane. We enter our first full year of operation in the town, and look forward to achieving record high prices across the area through a mixture of an extremely buoyant property market, industry leading first class marketing, and our ‘no nonsense’ attitude aimed at negotiating the very best price for our vendor clients.

We would love to speak to you if you have any questions about the current property market or Alexanders as a firm, and to that effect will be offering free ‘Price Guide’ valuations throughout 2017 for any clients who are curious to know where their property stands. It goes without saying that we would be delighted to help anyone who is considering selling or purchasing a property in the New Year.

SOLD! The Banky, Shadows Lane, Congerstone The Banky, Shadows Lane, Congerstone

“Perhaps I could start by saying why we chose Alexanders to market our house initially, Jane Alexander came to our house said all the right sort of things, as had others, but completely floored us with her very customer focused valuation, we had had a range of valuations from the scary to the uninteresting but Jane knew to the right buyer our unique property would be worth the money we sold it for, she explained her valuation by a number of methods and they all made a lot of sense. The team then took over the process of marketing the property which included getting us in the magazine 25 Most Beautiful Homes published after the sale, but a great record of the home we built from scratch. The team was in regular contact with us letting us know of the situation and keeping our expectations realistic. While the sale was a little bumpy, but then which house sale is stress free, they supported as all the way, thanks Vanessa. Acid test would we use them again, naturally.” – Mr S Henry

West Bridgford is a popular and thriving family orientated community, home to Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and boasting several excellent schools and academies, local independent shops, bars and farmers markets, all which play a vital part in sustaining a buoyant property market.

Properties within this sought after town vary as much in style and proportion as they do in value and desirability. In 2016 we have seen a rise in demand for homes within West Bridgford and the surrounding areas for those commuting to nearby towns and cities for work, providing a central base with excellent facilities.

The increased demand for family homes has surpassed all expectations, and we have since witnessed a rise in new homes and extensions to current properties to create further living space.

Brexit, the strength of the pound and interest rates all give rise to uncertainty within the property market, however, not to dismiss any of these factors, people continue to believe in the investment of property and this motivation keeps our market moving. This being said, agents should certainly be mindful of this trending criteria when valuing property, as we have seen an increase in down valuations on properties in highly desirable locations.

Whilst schools and academies retain their outstanding Ofsted levels, property will continue to benefit from this alongside the thriving business community and excellent local amenities which draw buyers to this increasingly popular town.
